Elizabeth Bell

Watercolor is my passion — it has changed the way I see the world around me. I love bold colors, whether it's painting vibrant flowers, berries, vines, plants, animals, or still life.

I find beauty in my daily walks around my home in Westchester, New York, in trips to the beach with family, and in my travels to Europe. One of my favorite places to spark creativity is the New York Botanical Garden. I am frequently struck by the lush colors of nature, knowing I must paint them. The subjects are immediately imprinted into my mind, even before I put my brush to paper.

Watercolor came into my life in 2012, when I was looking for my next adventure after raising two children while working full time as a marketing professional. An amazing creative world opened up to me while taking Introduction to Watercolor at the Center for the Arts in Westchester. Twelve years later, I have developed my skills in drawing, painting and printmaking. I have studied with dozens of master watercolor artists as well as at a variety of art schools. I am currently studying with the watercolor artist Lori McQueeney. Lori and my classmates have been, and continue to be, an inspiration to me.

As my adventure continues to unfold, I hope you enjoy my work.

Elizabeth Bell and her husband, Vincent, a business consultant-turned poet, live in Ardsley, New York. They have two adult children and four beautiful grandkids.
